Foreign Authentication Service (Apostille Agent)
Apostille: Part of the Hague Convention
Documents destined for use in Hague Convention countries require an Apostille. Price includes notarization and fees. Apostille documents are mailed back via USPS. FedEx and UPS delivery services are optional (price varies). Currently, the Secretary of State takes 3-4 days to process.
Please Note: All birth and death certificates requiring an Apostille must bear the signature and certification of the current Alabama State Registrar. Federal documents are not authenticated at the state level.

**Effective September 1, 2023:
An Alabama Notary Public can charge $10 per notarial act in addition to a reasonable travel fee.
All Documents Must Have Full Notary Public Wording. Otherwise, a Jurat or Acknowledgment certificate is needed.

APPOINTMENT, POLICY, and FEES
This policy is to manage travel fees, additional services, and late events.
- Sapphire Notary commences mobile service from the 35068 using the standard IRS mileage rate of .67 (increased on 1.1.24).
- The minimum (base) mobile service fee starts at $65 which includes the first $10 notarization (seal) fee.
- Additional notary seals are discounted at 50% ($5) after the 1st notarized signature.
- Round trips over 30 miles are an additional fee, for mobile services.
- Tolls, parking decks, etc. are an additional fee, for mobile services.
- E-doc printing and scanned documents are $30.
- “Late Arrival” of 15 minutes is a $10 fee for in-person and mutual mobile appointments.
- The full fee is due if the client refuses to sign or is a no-show.
- Cancellations made 12 hours before the appointment, are a $10.
- Communication is key.
